The Uproar is raising money to benefit the Black Farmers’ Market in Raleigh,
NC.
Join us by pledging a dollar amount per NC Courage goal during the 2021 NWSL
Challenge Cup. At the end of the tournament, we will contact you with
information with your total pledged as well as instructions on how to make
your donations.
In NC, there are far too many communities that have limited access to healthy
and affordable food options. In 2015, 170,431 Wake County residents and 69,240
Durham County residents lived in neighborhoods with low access to grocery
stores. Today there are over 3 million farmers in America. Of those, less than
2% are Black. Land laws, discriminatory banking practices, and other
institutionalized practices of racism have impacted a once thriving network of
Black farmers.
The Black Farmers’ Market mission is to inspire a self sufficient community
that supports and protects Black farmers and entrepreneurs.
The Uproar is the Suppoerters Group for the NC Courage. Our goal is to ignite
energy and enthusiasm in and outside of Sahlen Stadium for our club, the back-
to-back NWSL champions and 3x shield winners. We create a collective voice for
the fans to ensure an inclusive soccer community.
