Our second ACTS campaign is benefitting Casa Ruby DC.
Casa Ruby provides social services and programs catering to the most
vulnerable in the city and surrounding areas. Casa Ruby houses and assists
primarily trans women of color and LGBTQ youth facing homelessness The idea
behind the formation of a transgender women of color run and led organization
came almost 30 years ago when Ruby Corado arrived to Washington, D.C. and
there were no services to support her needs as a young transgender immigrant
Latina. Casa Ruby offers a wide variety of programs and services, ranging from
emergency housing to non-medical case management.
This last winter an electrical fire forced Casa Ruby out of their building and
they are now in need of funds to move to a new location and keep their
Pledge today to help this vital member of the DC community stay alive to
continue making dreams come true.
