Choosing a Charity Partner

Part of the magic of Prideraiser is that help we raise funds for dozens of local charities around the world. Some groups choose to raise funds for larger organizations that are well known; others work with smaller organizations. Thereā€™s no wrong choice here, but you can have a larger impact on a smaller organization.

We donā€™t require 501(c)3 or similar status, but itā€™s a good idea. That certification assure some level of accountability and public reporting.

We do require that the charity have a way to collect donations online. Preferably on an easy-to-use webpage that is solely focused on taking donations. That page must not default to recurring donations. If your charity doesnā€™t have a way to take donations online, talk to us early and we can help recommend options for them.

Not all LGBTQ+ organizations are created equal. We highly encourage you to talk to your charity about their stance on Trans folx, Black folx, and other non-white, non-cis members of the LGBTQ+ communities. The rainbow should cover us all. If it comes to our attention that a charity on our platform is Trans-exclusionary or otherwise bigoted, we will require you to choose a new charity and we will help you message your donors about the change.
